Sport and fashion have never been two things you associated together until now. Even the most athletic tomboys can find outfits that fit their sporty style but are also acceptable in the fashion world. Forget about baggy matching trackies and hoodies, this trend is bringing in silk bomber jackets and wedged, quilted high top sneakers. Sportswear is no longer just for the athletes or those trying to shift a few pounds; sportswear has become glamourous. You can score some of these must-have items such as these silk runner shorts from Topshop or this black bomber jacket from River Island.
This season, pink is the new black! Coral, fuschia, baby pink and neon pink; anything goes as long as it’s bright and girly. Vibrant pink hues were seen on Spring/Summer runways such as Badgley Mischka, Victoria by Victoria Beckham and Tory Burch. Now, high street brands like River Island and New Look are also embracing the trend with shades of raspberry, watermelon and coral pinks featured in shoes, bags, jeans – everything!
Pink hair has also become a new trend with models like Charlotte Free leading the way for a new candy coloured hair trend. The trend was featured in Spring/Summer 2012 shows like Thakoon and Katy Perry sported a pastel pink hairdo while performing on The X Factor. Even Glee’s Quinn Fabray briefly sported a pink do during her rebellious phase in Season 3. It seems as though pink is coming back and it’s taking over every aspect of the world: fashion, music and tv.
